Board Meeting on Monday, August 8, 2022
The next Regular Meeting of the Northampton County Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, August 8, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. The Board will convene the meeting at Central Services at 3:00 p.m. for a closed session for personnel. Other than convening the meeting (the public is welcome to be present at 3:00 p.m.) The Board will begin open session immediately following closed session for the remainder of the meeting at Central Services.

In compliance with Board Policy 2310, each month, the first part of at least one regularly scheduled board meeting will be set aside for citizens to
address the Board through public comment. Each speaker will receive three minutes to present comments. A sign-up sheet will be available at the Receptionist’s Desk for any individual or group to indicate their desire to address the Board. The public comment portion of the regular business meeting will be held at the time shown on the agenda. Members of the public may submit public comments in one of three ways: (1) appear at the meeting and sign-up by 4:00 p.m.; (2) sign-up by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting to have comments broadcast live on the video and audio feeds; or (3) submit a written comment to be read aloud by staff via email by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Each person is limited to one public comment, whether written or spoken, per meeting. Written comments or requests to have comments broadcast should be submitted to Mr. Corey Tyler, Technology Director and Public Information Officer, at (252) 534-1371, extension 2246 or by email at tylerc@northampton.k12.nc.us.
Rules of Order and Decorum
All of the Board’s normal rules of order and decorum for public address apply to comments submitted by telephone or in writing. The Chair may rule written comments out of order in the same manner as spoken comments.
Special Accommodations
Anyone who requires disability accommodations or may have trouble accessing the live video stream is encouraged to contact Mr. Corey Tyler at (252) 534-1371, extension 2246 or tylerc@northampton.k12.nc.us prior to
the day of the meeting to explore whether alternative arrangements can be made for the submission of public comment.
