Mr. Corey D. Williams Jr.

My name is Corey Williams, and I serve as a Grade 6 Teacher of Mathematics and Science at Gaston Middle School. I come to you as a PROUD product of the Northampton County Public School System! My journey in Northampton County Schools began as a student at the former Rich Square WS Creecy Elementary School. I also attended Conway Middle School and the former Northampton County High School-East. After graduating from NCHS-East, I attended Chowan University and eventually transferred to North Carolina Wesleyan College.

Currently, I am entering my 8th year in public education, and 3rd year as a classroom teacher. Over the span of my career, I have served in the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District, Halifax County Schools, and currently, Northampton County Schools. I have served in the capacities of tutor, bus driver, teacher assistant, testing coordinator, special education teacher, and general education teacher. Each year in public education gets better and better! I made the choice to come back to my home district to be a part of something great! While I have enjoyed each role and district that I have been privileged to serve in, my heart has always been right here at home, in the Great Northampton County! We are #NorthamptonSTRONG, and committed to the work at hand, "Changing the Lives of Children".

It is my belief that all children can learn, and are entitled to a quality education that is free of barriers and biases. My guiding principle for teaching can be summed up into the following quote:

"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence" -Vince Lombardi

I look forward to continuing the pursuit of excellence for the scholars of Gaston Middle School, where we are intensifying from category 1 to category 5 Hurricanes!
