Mrs. Tenekquala Patterson

Hi, I am Tenekquala Patterson, I have been a teacher for 28 years.  I have taught in Weldon City Schools, Halifax County Schools, CADA Head Start, and Northampton County Schools.  I have taught ages 18 months- 3yrs, Pre-K thru second grades.  I am a lifelong resident of Halifax County (Weldon).  I graduated cum laude in May 1992 from Elizabeth City State University with a BSeD Degree in Elementary Education (k-6).  I obtained my Birth through Pre-Kindergarten add on certification in July 1997 through North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.  Once a student enters my classroom they gain not only a teacher but a lifelong advocate as well.  I attend extracurricular activities, graduations, and weddings of former students.  My teaching philosophy is- A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart- author unknown.  Lastly, I would like to share a Teacher’s prayer for my past, present and future students and families.  Lord, please help my students and help them as they grow.  May I teach them faithfully the thing they need to know.  So they may face the future knowing they are prepared, and when they think of school days.  May they know their teacher cared. - Holly Monroe

I reside in Weldon, North Carolina with my family husband (Jerome), and daughter (Shilise).  My hobbies and interests are walking, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and helping anyone in need anyway I can.
